A leading European data centre delivery contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join its head office team in Ballymount.
 

This organisation delivers turnkey data centre solutions across Europe, supporting some of the world’s most advanced mission-critical infrastructure projects. With strong growth and a robust project pipeline, this role offers long-term career development within a high-performing estimating and commercial team.
 

As Mechanical Estimator, you will prepare detailed cost estimates, manage subcontractor pricing, and support bid submissions for large-scale mechanical packages across data centre and complex MEP projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical estimates from drawings and specifications
• Manage quantities and develop pricing documentation
• Coordinate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers across Ireland and Europe
• Compare bids and quotations using structured analysis and cost models
• Maintain and develop cost databases for estimating accuracy
• Produce management reports for bids and commercial reviews
• Build and maintain relationships with key vendors and subcontractors
• Support quality control and tender documentation standards
• Collaborate with CSA and Electrical estimating teams
• Identify and manage project risks during tender phases
• Mentor junior team members and support estimating best practice

Skills & Experience

• 4+ years’ experience in a mechanical estimating or QS capacity
• Estimating or quantity surveying background
• Knowledge of construction pricing and subcontract procurement
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts (advantageous)
• Proficiency in Buildsoft, CostX, or similar QS software
• Strong analytical and commercial awareness
• Excellent communication and stakeholder skills
